TRANSLATION EXPERIENCE:

With more than 23 years as an independent translator, I operate a freelance business from my home office, taking assignments from international organizations and governmental agencies, TV networks, private clients and translation companies. During this period, I have also held a number of different positions:

  • Editor and Publisher at SilentHeart Press in Ojai, California - Current position, since 2000.
  • 10 years as a part-time interpreter and translator for the French Consulate in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (partial list of translated works);
  • 2 years as a French Literature and French language professor in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (UFRJ and UERJ);
  • 10 years as part-time, then full-time staff translator (subtitles) for Drei Marc Produções in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (partial list of translations).
  • 2 years as part-time translator at Mar, Vela & Motor, a Brazilian monthly boating magazine;
  • 2 years as proofreader for Editora Espaço & Tempo, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil;
